Probably the biggest event ever hosted by Syracuse University’s iSchool, #140cuse is happening this Thursday, April 19! After months of preparation (major props to David Rosen), we are finally ready to welcome more than 50 speakers to campus to share their stories of how social media and the real-time web have affected their lives.
Since this is a conference ABOUT the power of social media, we want everyone to be able to get involved, whether you are attending or not.
Here are the best ways to stay on top of what’s happening:
Official conference hashtag: #140cuse
Follow the action on twitter as speakers and attendees tweet the day away. A great way to keep up with a hashtag is to use tweetchat.com. Tweetchat allows you to sign in using your twitter account, see and interact with the the live feed of the hashtag and join the conversation without having to add the hashtag to your own tweets.
Follow @140cuse for the latest updates, some live-tweeting, and scheduling announcements.
Download the Grupio app for your iPhone, Android or Blackberry and select the #140cuse conference. Here you will find a complete conference
schedule, speaker bios, a list of attendees and their twitter handles, travel information, a campus map, etc. Grupio is a great way to keep up with conferences on the go!
Post your pictures to Instagram using #140cuse and they will show up on our big screen at the conference. If you have an Instagram account but you can’t join us, search #140cuse to see all the pictures posted here in Syracuse.
Check-in to the #140cuse Conference venue on Foursquare and leave tips, pictures and comments. Let’s get a Super Swarm going!
Check out the #140cuse Playlist on YouTube for post-talk interviews with some of our most popular speakers. Videos will be posted throughout the day.
Couldn’t make it to Syracuse? Streaming video from the main stage will be ongoing starting at 9am EST at 140cuse.com/LIVE. It’s the next best thing to being here…
Did we miss anything?
We’ve registered more than 650 guests from 27 states and three countries for #140cuse and this is a phenomenal opportunity for face-to-face networking, in addition to all the social media awesomeness. Anyone with a conference badge can join us for a reception in Hinds Hall after the event to make connections and share stories with attendees, speakers and organizers.
Serendipity happens. Please join us!
