Aside from being really interested in technology, I have another passion: music. I spend a lot of time going to shows and have learned a lot about the music industry by making friends with people in some of my favorite bands (a dream come true!). Hey, I even met my boyfriend through music and technology. But whether or not you’re a huge music fan, you’ve probably thought “I wish there was a soundtrack for my life” or “I just need a playlist for this moment.”
Well luckily, there’s an app out there that’s perfect for you. Songza detects the day and time and generates categories in its “music concierge” that fits your current mood or activity. By clicking one of these options, Songza then gives you more specific categories with playlists that are perfect for what you’re currently doing. With two clicks, you now have a commercial free playlist! (Take that, Pandora!) Similar to Pandora, you are only allowed to skip a certain number of songs before Songza cuts you off. Songza stepped up its game when they released holiday playlists and New Year’s Eve party playlists during December. Songza is constantly updating their playlists, and have people working to find the latest and greatest music for all your musical needs.
Songza also has a social side. By creating an account, you can save playlists that you like and you can see what other friends on Songza are listening to. The playlists your friends are listening to may inspire you to check out new tunes. Additionally, other Songza users can comment on the playlist you’re listening to. This creates a great fanbase for the site but also allows music lovers to interact with one another.
As someone who craves meeting people who share my taste in music (as well as discovering new jams), Songza is perfect. It allows me to talk about the music I like, enjoy that music through a continuous playlist, and create an awesome environment for myself and others. Despite the time or mood, Songza is always available for immediate tunes.
Songza is also available for your iPhone, Android and Kindle Fire. If you’re not into using Songza on your mobile device, simply going to Songza.com will give you the same services that you can get on your phone.
